March 2, 1937 – September 22, 2024 - Nancy Joyce Dale (Nancy Jo), age 87, passed away peacefully at home, on September 22nd in Newberg, Oregon surrounded by family. Born March 2, 1937. Nancy spent much of her life raising children, playing volleyball, gardening, craft making, crocheting, and being the pillar of her family.
She married Paul David Heinzel in 1956. Together they had four Daughters: Lori, Linda, LeAnne, and Leslie. They moved to the Willamette Valley in 1971 where she was actively involved in 4-H (Bronco Busters) and Blue Birds.
In the mid 1970’s she divorced and married Lawrence (Larry) Dale in 1984.
Nancy and Larry purchased a farm in Newberg with their daughter Leslie in 1992. A few years later, they took the reins of the hay delivery businesses, renaming it Gma & Gpa Hay Sales and Delivery. Thousands of horse owners, animal lovers, and other patrons benefited from the feed she supplied, and hundreds of others undoubtedly also stopped by for fresh eggs, homemade yard art, vegetables, or the potholders she always seemed to have on hand.
In her later years, she was affectionately known as Gma by her hay customers. She was an active member in the Tualatin Valley Garden Club and wasn’t known to skip a bingo session in Newberg and McMinnville.
She is resting peacefully now with her mom, dad, and husband Larry. She is remembered and survived by four daughters, 10 grandchildren, six great grandchildren, two cousins and everyone else’s life she touched.
